OPEN ART STUDIOS WAS A SUCCESS!

Thanks to everyone that took part of it! This event was part of the annual Atlanta's West End Art Tour 2010

This tour is a free public event to expose visitors to West End arts and have them experience the variety of services the West End Historic District has to offer.

The annual WE Tour (West End) took place on Saturday May 15, from 10am to 5pm featuring the following destination points: The B-Complex, Hammonds House Museum, The Metropolitan Complex and the Wren's Nest. The B-Complex and the Metropolitan Complex will have open artists' studio visitations and demonstrations. Hammonds House Museum displayed an exhibition titled Incendiary Exposure. The Wren's Nest had house tours and scheduled storytelling.

IMAGINATION AT PLAY - a community project crammed with possibilities FREE

Born out of the Landmark Education program for Self Expression and Leadership, the Imagination at Play is a personal project about creating a bonded community for the residents at Glenlake Apartments Complex.

Goal: creating a club that would feature vary activities lead by members of the community: art classes for all ages, book reading meetings, kids sidewalk chalk competitions, story telling, game night (scrabble, chess, bridge), yoga wellness in meditation garden , financial workshops and much more - the possibilities are endless.

Scope: Having fun, getting related and creating long-lasting friendships by either leading a class or simply participating in it, it's being connected that transforms a neighborhood in a community.

The aim of the Country Study program is, over the course of a full academic year, to take a wide-ranging look at a specific country or region under study from its earliest history right up to current events, breaking down stereotypes and connecting across cultures. RECYCLING EARTH

This exhibit featured works of art created from recycled materials. Artists include Rose M. Barron, Jaynie Crimmins, Lynn Edwards, Hang Nguyen, Frederick Reber, and Diana Toma. Proceeds from the show will benefit Trees Atlanta. The artist reception was held on Wednesday, April 14, 2010 from 6 PM - 9 PM.
